How to clean
Easy maintenance!
cerapotta is easy to clean, requiring only a simple rinse before and after use. Materials are specially chosen for easy maintenance and prevention against oxidization of beverages. |
||
Clogs in the filter may result in an acidic aftertaste and slower drip speed.
Clean your filter thoroughly if you notice any of these problems. |
||
Maintenance when drip speed slows down | Maintenance by boiling | Fully submerge the filter in water and boil for approx. 10 minutes. Be sure to keep the filter upright when sterilizing. *Failure to do so may cause bubbles to form at the bottom of the pot, preventing complete sterilization. |
Maintenance by microwave oven | Fully submerge the filter in water and microwave for approx. 5 minutes on 500W / 2.5 minutes on 1000W.
Sodium bicarbonate can be added to the water for more effective cleaning. (2 tablespoons of powder to 1 liter of water.) After cleaning, be sure to thoroughly rinse the filter and leave out to air dry. *The product may break if rapidly cooled under running water. |
||
If the basic care above does not resolve the clogging, please follow the intensive maintenance steps below.
|
||
Maintenance for slow drip speed even after basic care (boiling and microwave). Three steps: |
1 First, soak in sodium percarbonate (unscented non-chlorine bleach) |
Dissolve the sodium percarbonate in a pot or bowl of hot water (104-140°F / 40-60°C) and cover the filter entirely. Leave it to soak for about one hour. *Use sodium percarbonate (unscented non-chlorine bleach) in accordance with the directions for dosage and use for dishware. |
2 Then, rinse well | Wash the filter thoroughly with running water.
3 Last of all, boil | Use fresh water for boiling. Do not use the water from step 1. |
